Adelaide Fringe

Adelaide Fringe: Ron checks out the action in the Adelaide City region of South Australia

The eclectic madness of the Fringe is back and this time a little earlier than we might have expected. The Fringe crew is doing it on their own this year without the safety net of the biennial Festival of Arts.

So for the Fringe organisers, like Sandy Verschoor, this festival is one of the most important. But she says there's plenty on offer.

"We have 440 acts registered and each has different seasons," she said. "Some run for three days, some for two weeks. At last count there were 196 venues so it really does take in the whole city and the suburbs."

The Fringe is on until March 31st. It's on at a host of venues throughout the city.
