Performance Artists - Accordion to You: Lisa checks out what all the funs about in the Adelaide City region of South Australia

Meet Nadia Lorenzin, with tambourine in hand, and her partner in polyester, Rosalind Aylemore. They're known as 'Accordion to You' and accordion to them, you don't need a lot of formal training to do what they do - just plenty of front.

"I joined a rock'n'roll band," explained Nadia. "Instead of learning to sing rock'n'roll style I took up classical - kind of. I love making fun of it in a sense."

With the aid of the squeezebox, Accordion to You, squeeze the life out of classics from Elvis to Verdi. But why the piano accordion?

"Well, it's mobile, it sounds great and it's very versatile as an instrument. We play all sorts of music - opera, jazz and cabaret."

These polyester princesses first got together in the acapella trio, The Schmaltzarellas, who were well known around the cabaret and festival circuits throughout the nineties.

Ten years ago, three became two, and now Accordion to You take their unique brand of music to the people at weddings, birthdays, you name it.
