Originally a wine tasting facility, the premises were reopened as a restaurant in 1982. Since then, many a gourmet meal and fine wine has been consumed with satisfaction. Chef and co-owner Peter Clarke offers a fresh and modern approach to regional produce while maintaining the traditions of quality food preparation.

Vintners Bar & GrillPeter's culinary delights come from many years of experience in the restaurant business. Peter studied in London and New Zealand and scored a silver medal in the Australian Culinary Olympics in 1985. After moving to Australia and working in various five-star restaurants in Sydney and Melbourne, Peter eventually relocated to the Barossa Valley in 1996, becoming the head chef at Vintners Bar and Grill.

Vintners' numerous Awards speak loudly of the establishment's success. Among many others, they include the American Express Restaurant Award for Best Restaurant in Adelaide Hills/Barossa in 2001 and the Barossa Valley Wine and Tourism Association Award for Best Restaurant in 1998 and 2000. Restaurant & Catering Assoc. of S.A. Regional Winner [2005] and Tucker Seabrook Wine of the Year 2004 .

You can sample Peter's latest creations of edible artworks during a Fast Lunch. This new concept provides the opportunity to indulge in a sensational culinary experience that doesn't take up the entire afternoon - leaving time to explore the many other wonders of the Barossa Valley. The Fast Lunch consists of a two-course meal and a glass of wine from a local winemaker for just $27.

Vintners Bar & GrillIf you prefer to linger a little longer then Vintners Bar and Grill is the perfect place. The restaurant represents the best in fine dining and many local wine makers and identities often frequent the dining room. Highlights from the menu include a crisp stack of shredded quail and eggplant with chilli and ginger sesame dressing for entrée. Follow this with the char grilled kangaroo with beetroot risotto, parsnip and Linke's bacon. For dessert you must sample Peter's dark chocolate soufflé accompanied by a delicious vanilla bean ice cream.

Vintners' wine list is phenomenal. Five pages of food-friendly wines : sparkling, red, white, dessert and fortified wines from the old and new world wine companies.

Vintners Bar and Grill can cater for special occasions and functions, accommodating groups from 20-120. Outside catering is another of their specialties. You provide the destination and they take care of the rest.
