Saltram - the home of the Barossa’s best food and wine experience any time of the day.

The Saltram winery remains at the very heart of the Barossa today, with its heritage character, unique gabled tasting bar and one of Australia’s finest regional restaurants making it an essential place to visit and discover some of the region’s outstanding food and wine.

Situated at Salters Gully, on the Nuriootpa Road at the approach to the historic township of Angaston, the Saltram winery is one of the region’s oldest, with the historic Mamre Brook House proudly sitting guard over its 150 years of winemaking heritage. Saltram is an ideal start to your discovery of the heritage and produce of the Barossa region. The Barossa Valley Cheese Company, Angas Park Fruits and Schultz’ Butcher in Angaston, all famed for the quality of their local produce are other attractions nearby to the Saltram winery. Just a short stroll away is the Barossa’s famous Farmer’s Market, held every Saturday morning from 7.30am.

SaltramThe team at Salter’s and Saltram believe there should never be a time limit to the enjoyment of good food and wine, and are proud to offer the ‘Barossa’s Best Food and Wine Experience’ at any time of the day.

At the tasting bar you can experience an extensive selection of Saltram wines - wines which have helped earn Saltram the title of most successful exhibitor at the Barossa Wine Show three out of the last four years. Our range of classic Barossa wines includes a wide selection of the region’s famous Shiraz, including arguably one of Australia’s greatest - the Saltram No. 1 Shiraz. The tasting bar also features from time to time selected older vintages and limited release wines. Our experienced Guest Service staff are well qualified to suggest that perfect food and wine match.

Salter’s at Saltram is one of Australia’s finest regional restaurants. Although the menu at Salters can be broadly described as modern Australian, you’ll find touches of Executive Chef David Spanner’s 10 years of travel in Asia, Europe and America sprinkled throughout the menu. The menu changes according to availability of produce which David sources direct from a wide range of South Australia’s leading fresh food and produce suppliers.

Seating is available in the light and airy restaurant, and also most days on our Terrace, under the shade of a market umbrella overlooking the Mamre Brook house.
