Keith visited the Port Dock Railway Museum this week in the historic precinct of Port Adelaide. Postcards visited the Museum last year and rode Thomas the Tank Engine and met with the fat controller and enjoyed all the fun for kids at the Port Dock.

On this visit we had a look at the other side of the Museum, that has one of Australia's best collections of historic locomotives and rolling stock. A particular feature being some of the dinning cars from yesteryear. Sound proofing of the flooring to the carriages enhanced the pleasure of dining during your journey. All the linen and silverware in the display comes from the era and certainly helps with recreating the ambience of the Golden Era of rail travel.

You can wander the museum for hours enjoying the memories of the past and not so distant past that the Museum contains. It really does make a great day out for all the family. Girls as well as the boys love climbing over the exhibits and joining in the fun of Australia's Railway history. For more information contact the Museum on 8341 1690 or email: info@postcards.sa.com.au
