Moana Beach Tourist Park: At Moana in Fleurieu Peninsula region of South Australia

If the exhilarating seascapes of the Fleurieu Peninsula seem tempting, make time to visit the easily reached beachside town of Moana. The beach’s booming seas and lofty sand dunes are directly adjacent from the Moana Beach Tourist Park.

A 40 minute drive south of Adelaide, the Moana Beach Tourist Park is an ideal day trip base for holidaymakers visiting the Fleurieu Peninsula. The nearby Onkaparinga River National Park offers walking trails and is a treat for birdwatchers with egrets, coots, ibis, herons, swans and yellow-billed spoonbills all inhabiting the area.

Moana beach offers terrific summer swimming, year round fishing and snorkeling. But, the spot is best known as a patrolled family surf beach, which offers a good degree of safety. Cars may be driven on the beach, although at certain times of the year a small fee may be charged.

The Moana Beach Tourist Park is close to shopping centres, cafes, entertainment, bus routes, a stakepark, public library and is on the doorstep of the McLaren Vale wineries.

The park caters for a wide range of people, all ages, singles and families. Consequently they offer a variety of accommodation options. Their executive cottage is fully self contained (with a private spa) and is suitable for two adults. The holiday units are roomy and include heating and cooling, two bedrooms, private balcony and fully equipped kitchen, and are suitable for two to five guests.

Much thought has also gone into the powered grassed caravan and tent sites. A generous distance has been allotted between guests, to maximise privacy, as well as some drive-thru sites.

The Moana Beach Tourist Park is proud to present clean and modern facilities. Thankfully the hot water supply is assured in the sparkling (newly renovated in July 2007) amenities block which includes a disabled facility. Guests can make use of the fully equipped laundry. For those with an aversion to drinking tap water, fresh rainwater is also available.

There are activities on site to keep adults and children alike entertained. The park has two full sized tennis courts, a slam dunk hoop for basketball (please byo sports equipment) and a recreation room (including table tennis and television). There are two free undercover barbeque areas, and a junior children’s playground (which is shaded) and sitting areas when rest is required. The park provides other handy services such as Eftpos, public telephone, dump point, ice and gas refills and boom gates and security fencing.
