Great Italian tenor Luciano Pavarotti is quoted on the menu at Lungomare Caffe:
"One of the nicest things about life is the way we must regularly stop whatever one is doing and devote our attention to eating."
Such a simple observation is the inspiration behind this superb cafe, located on Colley Terrace near the Glenelg jetty.
The importance placed on creating a 'dining experience' for all customers has made Lungamore a favorite with bay side diners for almost 10 years.
It is a collaborative team between partners; restraunters Joe Turtur, Tony Caruso and executive chef Martin Minear - Martin has been a leader in Mediterranean cuisine for over 15 years at venues such as Windy Point, The Hyatt, and Ramada Grand. Together with Joe and Tony they have over 35 years of professional experience in ethnic cuisines.
An Italian word for 'along the sea', Lungomare offers warmth and intimacy during winter and street side alfresco dining during summer.
The menu features exquisite authentic modern Italian cuisine.
Bistecca Lungomare: sirloin steak char grilled with mushrooms, spinach, ricotta cheese and potato;
Linguini Al Granchio: pasta with fresh crab meat, garlic, a touch of chili, tomato, cream, flamed with brandy;
Lungomare pizza: with baby octopus, calamari, prawns, crab meat, mussels, mozzarella, anchovies and garlic;

The beer selection is also good with Australian beers such as Coopers, Cascade Premium, Hahn Premium, Crown Lager, James Boag and international favorites Peroni (Italy), Corona (Mexico), Heineken (Holland), Stella Artois (Belgium) and Becks (Germany) all available.
Hot beverages range from espressos, lattes and moccacinos to hot chocolates, Vienna and liqueur coffees. Twinings teas available include English breakfast, Earl Grey, chamomile, peppermint and lemon. There are also an excellent variety of cold drinks such as juices, soft drinks, and iced coffee.
Lungomare is a favorite for breakfast too. Indulge in a fully cooked breakfast of eggs served on roasted tomatoes, sautéed mushrooms and bacon rashes on toast; a ham and cheese crepe topped with warm napoletana or simply croissants, toasted muesli or a bowl of fresh fruit.
