The Hotel Augusta is a landmark hotel located on the waterfront in Port Augusta. Its recent refurbishment has created a contemporary venue ideal for both tourists and business professionals.

It's an idyllic location only three minutes from the airport and close to the supermarket, newsagent and chemist. The first floor balcony overlooks the water and is an excellent spot to enjoy a drink.

With its view of the gulf and backdrop of the Flinders Ranges there's no better spot to be on a warm summers night. Be mesmerised as the Flinders Ranges change colour before your eyes each night at sunset.

The hotel's main bar, the Saloon Bar, has five beers on tap including Carlton Draught, Victoria Bitter, West End Draught, Guinness, Fosters Light Ice and Coopers Pale Ale all dispensed through the hotel's state-of-the-art chilled front beer system ensuring an icy cold beer every time.

The bar is stocked with bottled beer and spirits as well as wine by the glass.

With a video jukebox, darts, video games and a pool table, the Sports Bar is an ideal spot to enjoy an evening of fun and entertainment. Try your luck and be entertained in the Sea Chest Gaming room. With 17 poker machines it has a mix of the latest machines and old favourites including plenty of 1c and 2c machines.

The Hotel Augusta is also renowned for its meals, especially seafood.

Sample the local oysters or King George Whiting any day for both lunch or dinner.

All the oysters come from the clean waters around Franklin Harbour at Cowell 170km south of Port Augusta on the Eyre Peninsula.

Try the Oysters Tempura, oysters in a light Tempura batter served with Wasabi mayonnaise, or Oysters Aphrodisiac, natural oysters topped with sour cream, smoked salmon and black caviar.

Enjoy a counter meal in the Saloon Bar or beer garden or indulge in restaurant-style cuisine in the Dining Room.

Manager Aaron Morgan said Hotel Augusta also has excellent function and conference facilities.

"We specialise in smaller functions of 50 people or less, but functions of up to 100 people can be arranged," he said.

"Our property has recently been refurbished to 4-star standards which allows us to tailor a package that best suits the needs of our clients, including accommodation and catering."

Regional meetings, sales meetings, training seminars, information seminars, product launches and cocktail parties can all be catered for.

A range of seminar presentation equipment can be supplied including television, video, CD player, overhead projector, 1.8m-projector screen and white board. A laptop computer and LCD projector can also be supplied on request.

Out of town delegates can stay at the recently refurbished four-star Comfort Inn, located next door.
