Grosvenor Hotel Grosvenor Hotel: Victor Harbor

The 100 year old Grosvenor Hotel, located in the heart of Victor Harbor's main shopping area, offers visitors the best of modern Victor Harbor, while maintaining its traditional heritage charm.

The hotel has 30 rooms ranging from backpacker accommodation to single, double and family suites. Continental breakfasts are available and every room has tea and coffee making facilities, hot and cold running water and alarm clock radios There is also a guest lounge where you can enjoy a chat and a cuppa or watch TV. The lounge and many of the rooms on the upper floor open out onto the expansive balcony - an excellent vantage point above the township with great views of the ocean.

The Grosvenor is a popular eating spot for guests and visitors alike. Its bistro seats 90 and diners can choose from a menu of hearty meals including steaks and locally caught fish and there are vegetable and salad bars with tasty selections to complement your main course. Specials start at $6.90 and mains range from $10 - $16.

Children will find something to tempt them on the Kids Menu and they can marvel at the model trains travelling a circuit around the walls of the restaurant and bistro bar.

The bistro also has a large, flat screen, rear projection TV connected to the Austar cable network, where the hotel shows all the big sporting events.

The Grosvenor has a licensed outdoor seating area, which can be used by bistro diners or patrons to either of the bars. A large marquee has recently been added to the beer garden, providing undercover seating for 70 - 80 people.

The bistro bar services the dining area and the front bar is a great place to socialise with friends or colleagues over a few beers or a game of pool. All bars have domestic beers on tap and a well stocked fridge of imported beers, ciders and mixers.

Since Barry Lange took over the Grosvenor in December 2001, he has been steadily working at improving and renovating the Hotel. New carpets have been added to many of the rooms, the tables in the bistro have been upgraded and the Bistro Bar is soon to be extended. The renovations are in keeping with the traditional heritage character.

The Grosvenor is a great place for anyone who prefers to travel without a car. The hotel can cater for anyone from single backpackers to football, netball or other sporting teams. All the highlights of Victor Harbor are just a few minutes walk away.
