Gibson's Barossa Vale Wines: At Light Pass, in the Barossa Valley region of South Australia
Highly experienced and knowledgable viticulturalist and winemaker Rob Gibson and his wife Anne would like to welcome you to their stunning cellar door at Light Pass in the Barossa Valley.
Called 'Gibson's BarossaVale Wines' they are a small producer of premium wines, specialising in Shiraz and Merlot blends, much of which are snapped up by a US market hungry for rich Barossa reds made by the man who once nurtured the Penfold Grange vines.
Born and raised in country Victoria in 1951, Rob's early education unfolded at Geelong. Later, at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, he studied geology which satisfied his yearning for adventure and exploration.
A chance vintage job in Auckland while on a working holiday stirred an enthusiasm for the wine industry, so much so that on his return to Australia in 1975 he settled in the beautiful Barossa Valley to work at Penfolds Wines.
Twenty-two years with Penfolds, and a degree from Roseworthy College, saw Rob experience almost every facet of wine production.
Now you can taste wines from his own label in the picturesque surrounds of the Gibson's Barossa Vale cellar door at Light Pass. Admire the modern architecture which blends beautifully with the surrounding environment and enjoy a unique wine-tasting experience.
