Bentley’s Hotel Motel: Great hotel accommodation at Clare, in the Clare Valley region of South Australia

The township of Clare (an hour and a half from Adelaide) nestled in the heart of the Clare Valley is one of South Australia’s prettiest towns. The Valley was first settled by religiously oppressed Catholic immigrants from German speaking Silesia in 1848. Their Jesuit priest - the founder of Sevenhill Cellars - was an Austrian. The newly ordained Fr Aloysius Kranewritter volunteered to tend the immigrant flock. The cellars at Sevenhill proved the area to be very suitable for the cultivation of wine grapes and so the Clare Valley’s wine industry began. Bentley’s Hotel became part of Clare’s hospitality industry in 1865 when it was know as the Northern and was renamed Bentley’s in 1939. This large property has continued to evolve into a modern hotel complex with the Bar and Bistro the most recent facilities to be renovated. Our Lodgings
Bentley’s Hotel Motel has 10 motel rooms all with ensuite facilities, air conditioning, TV and tea/coffee making provisions. Three of those rooms are heritage-style suites featuring a spa bath for your enjoyment. Rates are double $75 per night and a spa suite is $99 per night (prices include GST). Enjoy Local Fresh Cuisine
The wonderfully fresh menu at Bentley’s comprises of a range of Modern Australian, Continental and A la Carte dishes. The steaks are always juicy, the pasta’s fresh and the seafood’s mouth watering. You can enjoy your meal in the Bar, Bistro or Al fresco dining area, the choice is yours. Prices range from $6 to $20 (including GST). Open times are 12noon-2.30pm and 6pm-8.30pm. Bentley’s also has a private function room that can accommodate up to 50 people if you are organising a family or business function.

A great range of beers on tap and wines in stock
Bentley’s front bar and the Bistro bar are great places to enjoy a drink and catch up with friends or have a chat with the locals. The beer and mixers are always refreshing, and the wine’s relaxing, drop in and enjoy. You can also enjoy an Espresso coffee and one of those desserts that the sweet tooths among us just love. The bar opens at 11am and closes at 1.30am.

Entertainment
The hotel has live bands, and a resident DJ with all your favourite cover music on Saturday nights. The action gets underway from 9.30pm till 1.30am. The bottle shop is well stocked with an extensive range of wines from all the local wineries as well a good range of beers, mixers and spirits.
