Belair National Park: Wildlife Walk
Those with a passion for South Australia's National Parks should set their compass for one of the State's oldest at Belair. Next Sunday the 4th, Parks and Wildlife Festival gets underway on the main oval at Belair National Park and here you can certainly get up close with nature. "Yes you're a lovely baby wombat aren't you. Oh he's about 25 kilograms." Thoughout the day experts will be on hand to provide information about many of the animals we probably take for granted. The festival aims to give the public a better understanding of the challenges facing our National Parks and the amazing array of animals that depend upon them. And for the kids there's always a more basic challenge. You can also play your part in helping to protect and conserve the local environment by joining in the National Park Foundation's Walk For Wildlife. A gold coin donation allows you to hit the trail with the money raised going back into conservation projects in the State's National Parks. You can take part in the walk anytime between 10am and 2pm. The Festival gets underway at 10.30am at the main Belair Oval and will continue until 4pm. Admission is free.
