A Cafe Etc: At Brighton in the Adelaide Coast region of South Australia

Pure bliss! These two words perfectly sum up this little gem of a cafe. The food? Well, it's beyond good, in fact it's sensational. And its location? Right by the beach! But the thing that makes this cafe really stand out is its spirit. It hits you as soon as you walk through the door.

Everybody in this cafe is smiling. You literally can't help it. Reading the menu is exciting because it has all your comfort-food favourites, and the cake display makes your head spin.

Also unique to this cafe is its choice of theme - every inch of wall is covered with pictures of stunning Hollywood legend Marilyn Monroe.

Left, right, up, down - Marilyn is everywhere - except perhaps the little note on the cake cabinet which reads "Stressed spelled backwards is desserts. Coincidence? I think not!"

Yes a visit to this cafe is a great experience. Refreshingly different, wonderfully cosy and extremely well-priced.

You can get a large serve of home-made quiche for $7.90 or a lamb and mango salad with sundried tomato, bocconcini and olives for $10.90.

Breakfast is an absolute event. All your favourites are here, from porridge, crumpets and raison toast to bagels, eggs and bacon. Accompany it with fresh coffee, a fruit smoothie or a thick milkshake.

On a Sunday morning get there early - A Cafe Etc fills very quickly. Visitors can choose to soak up the morning sun from the rustic wooden seating outdoors or take position indoors where they can admire Marilyn, and, of course, be tempted by all the glorious food on display.
